SES reimagines satellite antennae design

Published on: Jun 6, 2016

SES presented entries for the first ever industrial product design competition for satellite antennae at our ninth Industry Days event, which was held in Luxembourg last week.

The design competition was launched earlier this year, and leading UK design schools were invited to design antennae that combined aesthetic appeal with technical function. Tom Christophory, Senior Manager, Broadcast Systems Development at SES, said that the competition aims to “show that satellite reception can be as beautiful visually, as it is technology-wise”.

Over 18 entries were received, and delegates at the event selected the three best concepts. The designers of these concepts will be able to develop their concepts fully before presenting a prototype at the International Broadcasting Convention, which will be held from 8 to 12 September in Amsterdam.
